Hmmm…"USSSA" - Sounds like a Russian Group
United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) was founded in 1968 as United States Slo-Pitch Softball Association. USSSA was originally created as a national slo-pitch softball association. However, in 1997 it capitalized on its slo-pitch success and became a multi-sports association, which currently includes slo-pitch and fast-pitch softball, baseball, basketball and golf, and in 1999, registered over 92,000 teams. With directors and registered officials in 50 states, USSSA offers league play to men’s, women’s, youth and senior’s classifications, as well as year-end national and world tournaments.
Northern California USSSA is the governing body for the close to 5,000 registered slo-pitch softball teams in Northern California, as well as all registered USSSA basketball, baseball, fast-pitch softball and golf teams.
John McKinley is the Northern California USSSA State Director for all slo-pitch and basketball teams. He has been involved with USSSA softball since 1979. John was the Western Region Umpire-In-Chief for 20 years and a member of the USSSA National Playing Rules Committee from 1980 to 1999. He has also been a member of the USSSA Equipment and Safety Standards Committee, the USSSA Apparel Committee and the Umpire Mechanics and Casebook Committee.
